Marie Seco-Köppen named new Cargo iQ Executive Director

Marie Seco-Köppen (pictured) will step up to the role of Cargo iQ Executive Director in May, taking over from Lothar Moehle, who is retiring.

Marie brings over 20 years’ experience in airfreight and is currently serving as the Chair of the Cargo iQ Master Operating Plan (MOP) Working Group.

“I am looking forward to engaging with the Board in refining Cargo iQ’s strategy and value proposition for the membership to elevate the service delivery to the shipper,” said Marie.

“I will be very focused on working with the team to strengthen the members’ Performance Visibility, applying the Visibly Better mantra.”

Far beyond tracking, Data-Driven Performance Management enables each party to effectively manage subcontractors, and their own network capabilities for their own product portfolio and market positioning. All of this, ultimately demonstrates service performance to the shipper.

Marie began her air freight career Panalpina’s Gateway in Luxembourg,, where she started in cargo flight operations, moving up to the role of Global Air Freight Process Digitalization Manager, where she drove automation and technology upgrades with airlines, boosted data quality, and enabled performance management through the implementation of a global shipment visibility platform.

As a co-founder of Swiss boutique consultancy, Im3pact AG, Marie delivered project work for freight forwarders, Ground Handling Agents (GHAs), airlines, and software providers to strengthen market-relevant capabilities.

Marie studied Business Administration and Management in Belgium and holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Customer and Value-oriented Product Management from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.

She also holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Holistic Continuous Improvement Management from the Swiss Association for Quality.

She is the proud mother of two boys and her free time is filled with her family and friends. She enjoys hiking, skiing, dancing, and organizing dinner parties and finds peace in drawing, poetry, and gardening.
